Euphonic Dissonance re-imagines Ministry’s Psalm 69 Part 5

Brian brings an update on the recording of Ministry's PSALM 69 - RE-IMAGINED...

If you like this blog then you should SUBSCRIBE TO OUR BLOG

Here are the FINISHED LYRICS for the re-imagined PSALM 69 song we're going to be submitting into this fine contest put together by Tunecore and Ministry. We've only got until friday of this week to finish this track so we're working hard to pull it all together.

Working on this track - I've been surprised to find that I misunderstood many of the samples. For instance - what I thought was "fire - god's dreamer" is actually "liar - blasphemer". How did I screw that up?

I'm working on the vocals now so you can expect to hear something new and exciting tomorrow. It's really almost done!!!!

LYRICS FOR PSALM 69 - RE-IMAGINED

Verse 1

They march up and down the street
Planting their feet
One foot in front of the other
Can you hear me brother?

Do you bear the mark?
If not they’ll drag you off

Make you understand
His master plan
The body of christ looked unto me
He made them better than man
And now they preach unto thee
Of the great short attention span

Verse 2

Wish we could turn back the clock
Before they fed us this crock
Should have saved Assange
They were the chosen ones

Have you prayed today?
Get on your knees and pray

Humble yourself before the messiah
Learn your place – call him sire
In his name we maim
With christ to conspire
Learning to prowl in his name
More souls to acquire
Taking their message door to door
Find out what you stand for
Promises of everlasting life
But at what price?

Verse 3

They call it war
A war that we pay for
A fight to stop heresy
Not written but spoken decree

Please present i.d.
Before we make you bleed

Listen to the words of our lord
Learn to fight with his sword
They tend to the sheep
Wiring up the flock
Their minds are asleep
They feel a mild shock
Focus their weary mind
Mission so defined
Promise to live forever
With no proof whatsoever

Hook

Revolution comes
New world
New order

Still no chorus worked up but definitely have a concept of what we want to do with that. Oh, we should have a third verse very soon. Be patient. I figured you guys were tired of reading about Julian Assange in our blogs but look - SUPRISE - I included him in these lyrics. Well, that's it for now. Should probably get back to work and finish writing these lyrics so we can have this done before the end of the month. So ... what do you think of the lyrics?

INTERNET WAR - 16 yr old soldier falls in combat and Russia sides with Assange

Brian of Euphonic Dissonance on Julian Assange - Wikileaks - Free Speech - and Net Neutrality...

The internet war is here and people around the world are taking sides - and taking prisoners.

ON THE SIDE OF ASSANGE:

The Australian foreign minister says the United States is to blame for the release of thousands of diplomatic cables on Wikileaks, not Julian Assange. Good for you mister Australian foreign minister guy. Way to call it like it is. It's reassuring to know that everyone in the world hasn't completely lost their minds and they can't all be muscled to agree with the American government.

In an interview with Reuters news agency, Kevin Rudd said: "Mr Assange is not himself responsible for the unauthorized release of 250,000 documents from the US diplomatic communications network. The Americans are responsible for that. The core responsibility, and therefore legal liability, goes to those individuals responsible for that initial unauthorized release." Wow, this guy actually makes sense.

Hey, Senator Lieberman, you should hang out with this Rudd guy. Maybe some of his good sense will brush off on you.

WikiLeaks' Julian Assange should get Nobel Peace Prize, says Russia. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and President Dmitry Medvedev have pledged support for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, and have gone as far as to suggest the beleaguered site's frontman be honored with a Nobel Peace Prize.

The Guardian quotes a Kremlin source as urging international non-governmental organizations to think seriously about "nominating Assange as a Nobel Prize laureate."

Julian Assange might deserve a Nobel Prize or at the least a Pulitzer Prize but I think Russia might want to reconsider giving that to a guy who might soon end up in prison - it didn't work well for the Chinese - they gave a Nobel Prize to an empty chair. "We're just gonna put the prize here in this empty chair and when the guy gets out of prison he can pick it up here." Good plan China.

ON THE SIDE OF FREE SPEECH:

Meanwhile, somewhere else in the world - the first internet soldier has been taken down in the line of duty and you'll be surprised to know HE'S ONLY 16 YEARS OLD. Dutch Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of involvement with the attacks of the MasterCard and Visa websites allegedly started by a group called Anonymous, who are sympathizers of WikiLeaks, reports the Wall Street Journal. See, I told you it was an INTERNET WAR.

Also, the amount of attacks online by Assange supporters are increasing. Attacks by pro-WikiLeaks activists are growing in strength as hackers add botnets and thousands of people download an open-source attack tool, security researchers said. Amazon, MasterCard, Visa, PayPal and the Swiss payment transaction firm PostFinance are just some of the companies that cut support for wikileaks and now are being targeted by these attacks. If you want to know more about how DDOS or Distributed Denial Of Service attacks work - then CLICK HERE for a great explanation.

ON THE SIDE OF AMERICAN GOVERNMENT:

The American government has decided that if they can't take down Wikileaks with current American law then they'll just make new laws. The SHEILD act (Marvel comics fans should be laughing at this) would amend US Code Title 18 Section 798, which is identified as the Espionage Act, to provide legal protections that already apply to communications intelligence to human intelligence sources. THE GOAL, said the senators who sponsor it, is to protect the lives of confidential sources and their families.

(that's great - it actually says ESPIONAGE on the S.H.E.I.L.D. logo)

THE GOAL, is to destroy anything and anyone that might threaten the illustrious careers of these corrupt politicians that are pushing these laws. What are you hiding? Just exactly how many skeletons are we going to find before this thing is over?

A free press can be good or bad, but, most certainly, without freedom a press will never be anything but bad. ~Albert Camus

INTERNET WAR - Glenn Beck sides with Assange - McConnell calls him Terrorist

Brian brings us more on the destruction of the internet...

Glenn Beck must be reading our blog because he's siding with Julian Assange. Beck has taken it a step further and suggested that the CIA is orchestrating the demise of Assange. Oh Beck, you crazy conspiracy theorist you but really - thanks for reading the blog and hey, thanks for the support.

Glenn Beck supports HIGH TECH TERRORISM

I'll bet Glenn Beck loves listening to Euphonic Dissonance. Bet we're all over his iPod.

Meanwhile in Washington the people that Glenn says are lying to us are rushing to burn Assange at the stake. Mitch McConnell labeled Assange a high tech terrorist. Wow, that sounds pretty serious Mr. McConnell. So you're suggesting that guy with the shifty eyes - the one that I see at Starbucks posting things to his blog via his Macbook - he might be a terrorist? I knew that guy was no good.

Terminator is a High Tech Terrorist

My CPU is a neural net processor; a learning computer. I'm also a HIGH TECH TERRORIST.
Come on!!! Really???

I wouldn't mind being called a high tech ninja. That would be cool.

Euphonic Dissonance is keeping a very close eye on this story. Why? Because it could potentially change free speech and the internet as we know it. Mitch McConnell said it himself - if they can't stop this journalist under current law then they'll make new laws that will stop him. This could be the biggest change of the internet in the history of the internet and we are alive to witness it happen. I just pray that Assange wins because I fear the outcome if he doesn't.

Today we live in a free internet world. Free to post what we want. Free to download what we please. Free to read what we like. Free to say what we wish. AND IF WE DON'T LIKE IT WE CAN GO TO A DIFFERENT WEBSITE!!! Our current internet is the embodiment of free speech and I think to change it would be a travesty. It seems that our government is hell bent on destroying this amazing thing it has created and creating a new internet that they will police. Is this really what we want from our elected officials? It's all so cleverly disguised as something else and it's hard for the American people to see the truth behind this story - but Glenn Beck sees it - I see it - thousands of hackers see it - why don't you?

What progress we are making. In the Middle Ages they would have burned me. Now they are content with burning my books. ~Sigmund Freud, 1933

INTERNET WAR - it's on!!! - choose your side: WIKILEAKS OR AMERICAN GOVERNMENT

Brian of Euphonic Dissonance on FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND THE INTERNET.

Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give the appearance of solidity to pure wind.
- George Orwell

I can't believe what I'm seeing unfold in the media. We are finally caught up in the worlds first INTERNET WAR. It's time to choose a side and it's not an easy choice to make - especially if you live in America - the frontline of this war. Your choices seem to be hacker Julian Assange - or supporting the United States government and it's troops. At least that's the way our government is painting this particular picture. From where I'm standing it looks like a picture of Julian Assange holding a pistol to an American soldier's head - but there's something about the picture that just doesn't look quite right. It's like it's been photoshopped - like when people were putting Sarah Palin's head on the bodies of supermodels.

Or in this case her head superimposed onto random gun toting white trash girl.

The United States of America's government has launched a witch hunt hate campaign that is sweeping over our country and threatens to destroy freedom of speech on the internet as we know it.

In this corner we have lightweight Julian Assange. An ex-hacker (1987 found guilty of hacking in Australia),  journalist, publisher and internet activist.

And in this corner we have heavyweight contender .... give a big round of applause for ..... THE US GOVERNMENT.

The U.S. government has made it's first strikes in the form of manipulating businesses to deny wikileaks service (paypal cuts off wikileaks account, wikileaks U.S. server shutdown) and perhaps also manipulating other world governments to take action against wikileaks (France to ban wikilinks, Hillary Clinton calls world leaders to express regret on Wikileaks) and maybe even trumping up rape charges against the founder of wikileaks in Sweden.

Oh, president Obama - you disappoint me. You said you would support internet neutrality....

"President Obama is strongly committed to net neutrality in order to keep an open Internet that fosters investment, innovation, consumer choice, and free speech." - White House Blog

...and yet when someone comes along and exposes something that might show all the filth and corruption hiding in United States government you're suddenly just as much a corrupt politician as everyone else in Washington. Thanks for showing who you really are Mr. President.

“WikiLeaks has put at risk not only the cause of human rights but also the lives and work of these individuals. We condemn in the strongest terms the unauthorized disclosure of classified documents and sensitive national security information.’’ — White House

So here we are. The country with an amendment to it's constitution that ensures a persons freedom of speech and we're launching hate campaigns that spit on that very amendment. 1st Amendment U.S. constitution

Well, I suppose that Glenn Beck was right. Obama must be a Nazi because now he's the equivalent of a Nazi book burner in my mind. I'm sorry I didn't listen to you Glenn. It was hard to pay attention after you labeled Obama a racist. That just doesn't make any damn sense. Did you even rehearse your show that day? What were you thinking? Were you dosing on Limbaugh's pills or something? And then on top of that you called him a socialist and a communist and who knows what other words with -ist on the end.

The irony of this - it's mind boggling. America government invents the internet - a canvas for all the world to voice their opinions and practice free speech  - and they end up running in fear of the thing they created when it starts reading their minds and telling all their secrets. They can't control their creation so now they'll find anyway they can to kill it. You can't blame the government for being upset but that doesn't make them right. They're trying to convince us all that this is going to kill American soldiers when in reality it really just caused a lot of the Washington diplomats some extra stress while they covered up their lies.

Euphonic Dissonance supports free speech and we support Wikileaks and Julian Assange in his efforts to fight this smear campaign. What America is doing is wrong. We don't support this gross violation of our constitutions first amendment. The internet made every individual in the world a journalist. There are actually people in Washington trying to argue that Assange isn't a journalist.

"He is not a journalist. He is not a whistleblower. He is a political actor. He has a political agenda," State Department spokesman P J Crowley

Well, Mr. Crowley (can't help but think of Ozzy Osbourne when I say his name) the definition of journalist is ...

1

a : a person engaged in journalism; especially : a writer or editor for a news medium b : a writer who aims at a mass audience

2

: a person who keeps a journal

... so according to that definition Mr. Assange is a journalist, and come to think of it so are you Mr. Crowley (there it is again), and so am I, and so is anyone who chooses to write a blog because they are a writer who aims at a mass audience. There is no badge or rite of journalism.

America, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a person innocent until proven guilty? Why does everyone suddenly believe that Julian Assange has committed a crime. There is no evidence of this. There is simply a lot of political and media rhetoric that tries desperately to imply a crime was committed. Until America can show solid evidence of wrong doing then we should not be swayed by these political contortionists.

So please don't fall for the hype America. Let's all join together and raise our voices and let our leaders know we won't tolerate them trampling on our constitution. Let's save free speech and save our internet. Let's all be the journalists that we can be and post blogs that expose our government for what it truly is. Viva la internet revolution!!!

Thank you fellow American patriots and journalists around the world.

THE WALKING DEAD - can't turn away from this apocalypse drama

Brian of Euphonic Dissonance rambles on about one of his favorite subjects - ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.

Zombies have finally reached our television in the form of an amazing series. With the creation of AMC's -THE WALKING DEAD we now get to see how insane people can really become in the event of zombie attack and the subsequent end of the world. Yeah, the show is a bit like a soap opera (Dark Shadows with zombies instead of vampires) but the catch with this soap opera - everyone dies!!! And yeah, they do come back from the dead - just like in soap operas - but in this instance they're frikkin' zombies and they want to feast on your succulent flesh.

Just a quick aside - in reference to Dark Shadows - I hear that Tim Burton is working on a Dark Shadows Movie. This movie is going to be amazing and that's why I should probably keep this short and just write about it in a separate blog. More on that later. Subscribe to our blog to keep up with stuff.

The Walking Dead gives us an inside look at the breakdown in social order that would occur if the world was overcome by zombie infestation. Fans of the old school George Romero style of slow-ass moving zombies will love this show. No tweaker zombies in this piece. Those things freak me out. It's much easier to shoot the slow zombies and I won't spill my drink while I'm doing it.

Recently Frank Darabont the producer/director of this great new series fired the entire writing staff. They're going into the second season with plans to assign scripts to freelancers. Seems this worked for the British show Torchwood. Well Frank - I hate to point this out to you but this is frikkin' AMERICA and your on a station who's acronym means American Movie Classics. Hearing this - I can't help but be worried for the future of this show.

We're working on a zombie inspired song that is as of yet untitled but we're going to give you a little taste with this rough draft of the lyrics. Enjoy.

Zombie Song - rough draft lyrics with tentative title

Verse 1

A pattern of unusual illness
The news warned us
No one listened
A communicable disease they said
Person to person they said
Fluid - skin - inhalation they said
Symptoms within then minutes
We've gotta get out of here
Full infestation in fifteen
Gotta get out of here
Spread of contamination
Rise in investigation
Fever, fatigue, cough, chest pain
Then you change
It's happening everywhere
A nationwide scare
Bioelectric robotic microsurgery
Nano-machines in living cells
And I don't want to change
Don't want to be one of those things

Verse 2

Pack food, water, supplies
They run fast
Gotta keep it light
Only the things we need to survive
Flashlight, first aid kit, army knife
Lots of guns and ammo
Maybe steal us a sweet ride
Batteries and hand crank radio
Gotta stay alive
Mostly travel at night
Sneak around
Stay out of sight
We should have seen this coming
Should have seen the signs
Many gave themselves freely
To be redesigned
With promises of better lifestyle
Better health
Better living
We took it all in stride
Now we struggle to survive
Civilization takes a dive
Afraid I'm losing my mind
They try to get in from the outside
Move to higher ground
Find a place to hide
Hermetical seal
Board up the windows
Lock ourselves inside
Synthetic technology
Reprogram your thinking
Oh babe, I don't want to change
Don't want to be one of those things

Hook

Dance
I'm on fire
And this city will burn

Well, hope you like that rough draft of our new zombie song lyrics. Gotta work on a third verse for this song soon. Here's the track it will be associated with...

Well, that's all for now. So what do you think? Is THE WALKING DEAD  the best zombie series ever or do you think we should put an axe into it's head and put it down permanently?

Euphonic Dissonance re-imagines Ministry’s Psalm 69 Part 3

Brian hits us with an update on the remake of Ministry's song "Psalm 69" performed by Euphonic Dissonance.

We're making good progress and should definitely be able to make the contest deadline at the end of December. Some of the other songs have been put to the side until this little gem is finished. We're working on a deadline, sorry, other stuff will have to wait. We'll be entering this song into the Tunecore.com contest. Winner will be featured on the upcoming soundtrack for the movie FIX (a documentary on Ministry).

The track is truly starting to take form. Now you'll be listening to an entire song rather than just half of a song faded after the bridge. Isn't that exciting? Okay, settle down. Here's the song.

CLICK HERE to hear Ministry Remake PSALM 69 Draft 3

Yeah, we had some down time due to the holidays - god bless us everyone - but as you can hear we are right back at it and recording some great stuff. I gotta say - it's been a real pleasure to play guitar alongside a bass playing legend such as Paul Barker.

Don't know about you guys but we are really looking forward to seeing this movie. Subscribe to our blog so you can read the next installment and hear all the new things we've added to this amazing new song featuring original samples of Ministry's PSALM 69.
