The Admiral Twin Drive-In Theater in Tulsa, Oklahoma burns and TMZ gets the story

Brian of Euphonic Dissonance gives us news on the loss of the historic ADMIRAL TWIN DRIVE-IN in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

TMZ gave the Admiral Twin Drive-In the press attention it needed after fire destroyed this historic landmark where the 1983 movie THE OUTSIDERS (starring Matt Dillon, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, and Diane Lane) was filmed. Okay, it was really TMZ.com - but that's still amazing. This may be the best publicity this old theater gets - so make sure you go to the blog and post a comment showing your support for the Historic Admiral Twin Drive-In. Here's the blog entry...

Movie Theater Playing 'Last Exorcism' Burns Down

A drive-in movie theater in Oklahoma burned down yesterday -- was it arson, a freak accident or the work of ... the devil?

See, this Tulsa landmark -- The Admiral Twin, which opened in 1951 -- was playing "The Last Exorcism." It was also playing "Predators," but those aren't real -- so we can rule them out as a suspect.

Bill French, Tulsa Fire Department public information officer, told the Tulsa World on Friday night that investigators were still not sure how the blaze started.

TMZ contacted the Tulsa Fire Department to see if they suspected a demon, someone possessed by a demon or even Satan himself had something to do with the blaze.

So far, no response.

There are several comments on said blog from NATIVE TULSANS who seem to be upset that TMZ would poke fun at such a tragic situation. HELLO PEOPLE - it's TMZ for god's sake!!!??? That's what they do!!! They make fun of stuff. Try to use the blog for something positive you nimrods!!! If you're so upset about your precious tulsa landmark burning to the ground then you had better post a link where people can go to help save this much missed landmark. Something like this...

DONATE TO REBUILD THE ADMIRAL TWIN ON PAYPAL

or .... if you're in tulsa and want to hear some live and help the devastated drive-in - then you should go to this. Click the pic for a full size flyer.

Keep up the great work TMZ. It may have been a tragic event for those of us that live here but I've got to admit - your blog was very funny. Just keep doing what you do best. Tulsa will heal with time.
